Do you have a 3-8 year old? Are they too big for the "baby" dishes and silverware - but not quite old enough to use the real thing yet?
NUK, a brand we can all trust, has introduced their new NUK Kid's line and we got to be some of the first to try it out! I had some moms and 10 kids join me for a luncheon at the park to test out plates, cups and silverware.
It was so much fun!
We LOVE the NUK kids line. The cups are durable, leak proof and fun. We had a shake test to see if we could get the cups to leak - and only my 7 year old daughter was able to get out a few drops (she was trying really really hard)
The normal tipping over, laying on the side and shaking them - still kept the liquid inside the cups! As a mom I really appreciate this feature. Nobody wants a cup to leak all over the couch, car, floor or child! The Magic 360 cups and Straw Ultra Grip cups are a great leak proof grown up cup for kids! They are also easy to take apart for cleaning!
We also got to try out their divided plates. These are so fun. The edges are curved to help the kids pick up the food. There are 4 sections so you can put a variety of options for your child to choose from. The plates are microwave and dishwasher safe which is a must in our house. They are also BPA free and made from recycled plastic.
My favorite part of the line was the cutlery. My 7 year old desperately wants to be grown up, but I just don't feel comfortable letting her loose with a knife yet. The NUK Kids line includes a real looking knife that really cuts - FOOD - not fingers. I tried very hard to hurt myself on that knife in all scenarios I thought could happen - but the knife never hurt me! It cut the food great though! The kids thought it was so cool to be able to cut up their own food!
The fork and spoon are great for little hands too. The fork is sharp enough to pick up food, but also safe for little fingers. Another awesome feature of the utensils are the indents on the handles for proper thumb and finger placement which help encourage the pincer grip.
